Privacy policy

In short

The videos you watch and the pages you visit stay on your computer. Our server only receives what it needs to count free downloads and manage paid licences. We sell no data, we show no ads, and the extension contains no tracking of any kind.

The videos themselves never go through our servers: they travel straight from the site you are visiting to your computer.

Who is responsible

AllVideoDownloader is published by PyAudit Systems LLC, 30 N Gould St, STE R, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA.

What stays on your device

This data is never sent to our server:

  • the media found in your tabs, forgotten as soon as the tab navigates away or closes;
  • your download history;
  • your settings: language, theme, quality, file names, destination folder;
  • the private key that signs your installation's requests.

Uninstalling the extension erases this data.

What our server receives

Limited use of data (Chrome Web Store rules)

AllVideoDownloader's use of information received complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements:

  • we use this data only to provide and improve the extension's user-facing features: finding media, authorising a download, managing licences;
  • we do not sell or rent this data to anyone;
  • we do not transfer it to third parties, except to the providers listed below who process it on our behalf, or where the law requires it;
  • we do not use it for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness or lending purposes;
  • no human reads this data, except with your consent, to answer a support request, for security reasons, or where the law requires it.

The permissions the extension asks for

Permission What it is for
Access to the sites you visit Spot the video and audio played by the page, and save them. The analysis happens on your computer.
webRequest See the addresses of the media the tab loads, to offer them for download.
downloads Save the file into your Downloads folder.
storage Keep your settings and the local history.
contextMenus, notifications, sidePanel The right-click menu, the end-of-download notice and the side panel.
offscreen Assemble HLS and DASH streams, and convert audio, on your computer.

Legal bases (GDPR)

  • Performance of the contract: paid licences, payments, e-mail sign-in.
  • Legitimate interest: free quota, fraud and abuse prevention, security of the service.
  • Legal obligation: keeping accounting records.

Providers

  • Stripe — payment. Your card details are entered into and handled by Stripe alone: we never see them.
  • Resend — sending e-mails: licence keys and sign-in links.
  • Railway — hosting of the server and the database, in a data centre located in the European Union (Amsterdam).
  • Umami — audience measurement for the avd.extnest.com website only: page views, referrer, device type, with no cookie and nothing that identifies you. It does not cover the extension.

Our company is established in the United States, so the data we process may be accessed from the United States. Those transfers rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you may ask for access to your data, its correction, its erasure, the restriction of or objection to its processing, and its portability. Write to contact@extnest.com: we answer within 30 days. You may also complain to your country's data protection authority.

If you live in California, you may ask to know, correct or delete the personal information we hold, and you will not be treated differently for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information, as those words are defined by California law.

Children

AllVideoDownloader is not aimed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Security

Encrypted HTTPS traffic, cryptographically signed requests from the extension, licence keys and IP addresses kept as fingerprints, restricted database access.

Changes

We may change this policy. The update date is shown at the top of this page and, for any significant change, the extension or the website will tell you.
